Banana
Default drops a banana, holding up while firing will launch it ahead. A kart that hits this will spin out. A banana can be held behind your kart.
Triple Banana
Exactly the same as the single banana, except you have three and that they are automatically trailed behind the kart the first time you use them.
Green Shell
Default fires it forward, holding down will fire it backwards. Green shells travels in straight lines, and knock a kart to the side if it hits. A green shell can be held behind the kart.
Triple Green Shell
Creates a rotating barrier of three green shells round the kart. The only difference between this and the single versions is that you can’t hold any of these behind you.
Red Shell
Default fires it forward, where it chases the next kart or, if you’re in first, travels around the track. Holding down plants the shell, where it waits for the next karter. A red shell can be held behind your kart.
Triple Red Shell
Creates a rotating barrier of three red shells round the kart. The only differences between this and the single versions is that you can’t hold any of these behind you and that this weapon is only for those near the rear.
Spiny Shell
This blue shell travels along the track aiming for first place, knocking any other karts out of the way as well. A shell only for those near the rear. A spiny shell can be trailed behind the kart.
Boo
The white ghost has many advantages. Boo makes the user a ghost, allowing them to drive through most hazards. Boo also steals a weapon from another karter. Finally, if the user is not first, Boo hinders first place, slowing them down.
Star
Increases the top speed of the user and makes them invincible. You can knock other karts aside with this as well.
Lightning Bolt
Hits all karts except those using stars. When hit they shrink, which causes all stats to drop.
Mushroom
This item gives a short boost of speed when used. Some shortcuts require the use of a mushroom.
Triple Mushroom
The same as the single Mushroom, except you have three to use instead of one.
