[edit] Summary
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the latest Mario game somewhat in the format of Super Mario 64 and takes off the original Super Mario Bros. sidescrolling playing. Mario, the main protagonist, makes a return in this sequel and faces new enemies, new planets and new galaxies. Returning from the original Super Mario Galaxy is Bowser, the almighty beast who yet again, will get his claws on Princess Peach. With him, old enemies to face and new ones, all with some cosmic flare. For the first time in a 3D Mario game, the gameplay sometimes shifts between 3D and 2D.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 also features Yoshi, not seen in the original Super Mario Galaxy. He will be seen helping Mario by offering him a ride and using different power ups to power through the different levels.
[edit] Gameplay
Super Mario Galaxy Wii brought a whole new way of gaming to the Wii. It was unique, magical and something that Mario fans hadn't seen before. The game used the Wii Mote and Nunchuk to navigate Mario across the galaxy. There was a combination of button pressing and remote shaking to do the job Mario needs to do. Super Mario Galaxy 2 uses the same control layout.
Another amazing piece of gameplay was the camera angle on each planet. The camera angle tilted almost anyway possible, upside down, round and round. It hooked you into the game allowing you to feel like you are running across the bottom and top of a planet. Again, Super Mario Galaxy 2 involves the same camera angles and gameplay.
[edit] Characters
Mario: The main protagonist is back again to save the day. He will be back and possibly better than before with new power ups, new levels to battle through and new enemies to fend off.
Luigi: Mario's brother and side-kick is a secondary playable character. His abilities slightly differs from Mario's.
Princess Peach: As usual, she is the damsel-in-distress of the game. Bowser kidnaps her once again and it's up to Mario (or Luigi) to save her.
Rosalina: Unlike the first Super Mario Galaxy, she is not seen so much here. But she is still seen as the Super Guide of the game and also plays a part in the game's ending.
