Starlow or Chippy as Bowser likes to call her, is a character that first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. She is a Star Sprite that helps Mario and Luigi by providing hints or holding items for them. She would have a similar role to Stuffwell from the previous games.

[edit] Game History

[edit] Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

She would be sent to Princess Peach as a representative of the star sprites. She believes that the cause of the Blorbs was from the Blorb Mushrooms that were sold by a man who wore a gray cloak. She would later be inhaled by Bowser, alongside Mario and Luigi, and other citizens from the Mushroom Kingdom. Her role in the game would be the same as Stuffwell from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. She will help the Mario Bros. and also hold their items and equipments. She is able to combine her powers with Peach to make people levitate and help the Mario Bros. to perform certain action moves. Starlow will talk to Bowser from inside of him to give him information. Because of this, she would use the name Chippy when talking to Bowser so he didn't know that she was helping the Mario Bros. as well. When the Mario Bros. encounter Bowser, she would help them out. She can help save the player from nearly unavoidable attacks like the Dark Star or Dark Star Core move.

At the end of the game, Bowser would hear Starlow's voice and recognize it as Chippy's voice and become furious and pick a fight with the Mario Bros. and her because of this. After Peach's and Bowsers Castle get remodeled, she would give Bowser a present from Peach as a token of thanks for what he has done and they would have a small chat that ends with Starlow teasing him and Bowser telling her to leave his castle.

[edit] Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Starlow will be returning in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It is unclear on wha her full role will be in this game. But in the trailers seen thuse far, she is shown to be the one that causes Luigi's in-dream reactions when the player pulls on his mustache or pulls his nose down on the Nintendo 3DS touch screen.
