Special World 2 is the second special world in Super Mario 3D Land. The world takes place on a field after being unlocked by defeating Dry Bowser in the first special world. The Warp Pipe at the start of the world that leads to World 2. One Toad House could be found in this world.

[edit] Special 2-1

Special 2-1 is a auto-scrolling level that will go both horizontally and vertically all at once. It is made up of yellow platforms, as well as Jump Blocks. Piranha Plants are the main enemies for this level, though Venus Fire Traps can also be found on this level.

  • Star Medal 1: Can be found above the first group of Jump Blocks.
  • Star Medal 2: Is above a yellow platform that is found after the second Venus Fire Trap.
  • Star Medal 3: After the Warp Box, the Star Medal is found on the castle-like structure.

[edit] Special 2-2

Special 2-2 is similar to World 3-2 but has a time limit of 30 seconds to finish the level. Players can find Blue Clocks found throughout the level to help increase the time. Most of the enemies have been changed around on the level as it consists of mainly Bloopers. There is one Spike Eel near the end of the level instead of two in the original level.

  • Star Medal 1: Found in the first underwater rectangular Question Block.
  • Star Medal 2: Found above the Rubber Platform.
  • Star Medal 3: Near the end of the level, there is a pair of wooden blocks that are stacked on top of one another with the Star Medal above it.

Special 2-3 is a remake of World 1-4 with a few changes. Instead of water beneath the player, it is now lava. Fuzzies can be found throughout this level with spiked cylinders on chains that are found throughout the level. One of the blocks on the second Blokkabloks will contain a Statue Leaf.

  • Star Medal 1: Can be found before the Checkpoint Flag. It is located about the chained spiked cylinder.
  • Star Medal 2: Using one of the water geyer's, the player can reach the Star Medal to the left of the water geyser.
  • Star Medal 3: Located near the end of the level, it can be found behind the big line of Fuzzies.

A remake of World 6 (SM3DL)|World 6-5]], this level will instead use Rubber Blocks. A player can use the Propeller Block to get through the whole level to make it easier while avoiding the Paragoombas found on this level.

Special 2-5 is a remake of the World 4-5 level. In this world it is a snowy level instead and the Snake Blocks will move a lot quicker. Stingbies can be found throughout this level.

  • Star Medal 1: Near the first ! Switch on the highest Snake Block.
  • Star Medal 2: After the three Stingbys, a player will use the third Warp Box to get to it.
  • Star Medal 3: After the three ! Switches, there will be one ! Switch that doesn't lead to the Warp Box. Instead the Snake Blocks will stop going south and Mario can jump down to find the Star Medal.

[edit] Special 2-Airship

Similar to the Airship in World 3. This Airship will instead use Banzai Bills instead of the Spike Pillars. It will also take place during the day instead of the night. It can only be player after the player has collected 120 Star Medals. Near the end of the level, the player will not face Boom Boom but instead take a Warp Box to the flagpole.

  • Star Medal 1: Located on the platform in front of the Banzai Bill Blaster.
  • Star Medal 2: Is floating above a Spiked Ball Launcher.
  • Star Medal 3: Floating above a crumbling rock platform, that is in the place of the second Star Medal in the World 3 Airship.
