Special Cup emblem, as seen in Mario Kart 64.

Special Cup is the final cup in each Mario Kart game. It usually consists of long and difficult tracks with a Bowsers Castle involved and a Rainbow Road to end it. The emblem for the Cup is a crown. It was a "S" back in Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Super Circuit, while it was a combination of the Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, and Star Cup emblems. To unlock it on Super Mario Kart, the player needs to win on all three cups on 100cc. It is unlocked after the player completes Star Cup on 100cc in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

The Special Cup would be renamed the Champions Cup in Mario Tennis Open. It would be the final cup for the World Open tournament after completing the Banana Cup. After beating this cup, the character will earn a star rank and boost their stats and allow them to enter the Star Open tournament series. The Cup will be played on Mario Stadium on the grass, clay, and hard courts.
