Shy Guys have always been common enemies, debuting in Super Mario Bros. 2 and making appearances in other games such as Yoshi's Island DS, Yoshi's Touch and Go, Yoshi's Story, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Super Mario Bros. 3, Paper Mario series, Mario Kart series and even Luigi's Mansion. He has appeared in the majority of Mario games in the main series.
 Game Appearances
Shy Guy first appeared in Mario Tennis as an unlockable character. He appeared once again as an starting character in Mario Power Tennis. Although he was not playable in Mario Kart Double Dash!!, Shy Guys skate around Sherbert Land. In Mario Kart DS, in download play, all characters other then the host must play as Shy Guy. Shy Guy's appear in several Mario Party minigames, and is one of the five hosts of Mario Party 4, along with Boo, Koopa, Toad, and Goomba. He also has his own board, Shy Guy's Jungle City. Fly Guy also appears in Mario SuperStar Baseball and will appear in Mario Super Sluggers. Shy Guy's also appear as sidekicks in Mario Super Sluggers. A Shy Guy is also the referee in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. In several stages in the Super Smash Bros. series, Shy Guy can be seen flying around and driving karts.
 Mario Kart 7
Shy Guy would return in Mario Kart 7 as a playable character. Unlike his appearance in Mario Kart DS, he can be used without the use of the download play, though he can be used in download play also. He can be unlocked through the Grand Prix mode. Shy Guy would have his own track called Shy Guy Bazaar. Shy Guy is a feather-weight racer and its acceleration and off-road are its best stats.
