Contents

[edit] Super Mario Kart

In Super Mario Kart, the Pipe Frame was the kart body that all the characters used with the color changing depending on the character using it.

[edit] Mario Kart 64

The Pipe Frames returned in Mario Kart 64 and were split into weight classes based on the characters riding them. Light karts have a high top speed and lose less speed off-road, but lose more speed when not drifting and are knocked around easily. Medium karts have good overall performance; not shining in any way, but not overly lacking in any way. Heavy karts lose more speed off-road and take a while to get up to top speed, but they are less reliant on drifting and can knock others around more easily. The kart's color changed depending on the character driving them.

[edit] Mario Kart: Super Circuit

Pipe Frames returned for Mario Kart: Super Circuit and changed very little from Mario Kart 64.

[edit] Mario Kart 7

In Mario Kart 7, the Pipe Frame is an unlockable kart body that characters may use. Like in previous installments, its color will change depending on the character who is using it. It slightly boosts Acceleration and Off-Road abilities while hindering Weight and Speed by a small amount. Heavyweights work well with this kart as they benefit from the Acceleration and Off-Road boosts and generally don't mind the drop in Speed and Weight.

[edit] Mario Kart 7 Stats

These take a character's base in each stat and adds to or subtracts from them depending on the kart used:

Speed= -0.25
Acceleration= +0.25
Weight= -0.25
Handling= 0
Off-Road= +0.25

[edit] Mario Kart 8

The Pipe Frame returns in Mario Kart 8 as an unlockable kart body and can be obtained randomly by collecting certain amounts of coins. Like in the previous installments, the kart's color changes depending on the character used. The Pipe Frame now sports its Super Mario Kart design instead of its design in Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and Mario Kart 7. Unlike in Mario Kart 7, it provides neutral Speed stats rather than decreasing it, as well as increasing Handling by a huge margin. The Pipe Frame also decreases Traction. Lightweights work well with this kart as they benefit from the Acceleration and Handling boosts, while not minding the neutral Speed boost (because of this, Lightweights can still increase their low top speed stats by using a tire part that gives a Speed boost).

[edit] Mario Kart 8 Stats

These take a character's base in each stat and adds to or subtracts from them depending on the kart used:

Speed= 0
Acceleration= +0.25
Weight= -0.25
Handling= +0.5
Traction= -0.5
