Paragoomba is a Goomba with wings and is a member of the Koopa Troop who works for Bowser. Their only difference visually from a standard Goomba is their wings which they use to fly or hop along. They have made many appearances in various Super Mario Series games over the years, and are one of Mario's most common foes. In fact, they are so close to a standard Goomba that in many side scrolling Mario titles they will lose their wings and become a Goomba when attacked. Thus he reveals his true identity of being a Goomba with wings.
 Game Appearances
 Super Mario Series
Paragoomba's make their first appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3 where there are two types. Both look the same but one is brown and the other a gold color. The brown ones hop along the ground trying to ram Mario, while the gold ones fly high above dropping Micro Goomba's. They can be defeated by stomping on them or using power ups.
Two types of Paragoomba's also appear in Super Mario World with one having the classic wings, and the other floats down using a parachute. Like typical they can be defeated by stomping on them, and in this game they flip onto their back allowing Mario to pick them up and throw them. After Mario picks one up he can ether throw it away, or at other enemies. The ones that float down on parachutes become normal Goombas when they hit the ground, and can be defeated by stomping on them. Both attack by running into Mario and both can also be defeated with power ups.
Paragoomba's make there very first appearance in a 3D game in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Nintendo Wii. In this game they can be defeated with one stomp instead of two, and take two hits from Mario's spin move. After Mario spins them once they will lose their wings and be stunned allowing Mario to kick them, and defeat them. They can also be defeated using Yoshi. A gigantic Paragoomba appears in the Supermassive Galaxy level, and can be defeated using the same attacks.
Paragoomba's make a very rare appearance in New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS. They appear in only one level where there are only two of them. They can be defeated by jumping on them twice, or by using power ups.
The Paragoomba is set to be one of the enemies that appear in New Super Mario Bros. 2. They can turn into Gold when Mario touches a Gold Ring and when they are hit, they will produce more coins.
Paragoombas also appear in New Super Mario Bros Wii, and are encountered more often then in New Super Mario Bros.. Other than that their behavior is the same and they can be defeated with two stomps, by using power ups, or eating them with Yoshi.
They would return in Super Mario 3D Land. They would act like they did in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and are defeated by any type of attack.
Paragoombas make a common appearance in the Paper Mario Series of games, and are one of the weakest foes in the series. Just like in there counter part games taking one hit will make them drop their wings and become a normal Goomba. If the damage from one of Mario's attacks is great enough they will be defeated with one hit.
|Locations||Drybake Desert, Yoshi Sphinx, Sandshifter Ruins|
The Paragoombas would make an appearance in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, where they would only appear in the second world of the game. They would have more HP and stronger attack than past appearances. This game would introduce the 5-Fold Paragoomba and the Shiny Paragoomba. They will attack with the headbonk.
Paragoombas also appear in Super Princess Peach where like in Super Mario Bros. 3 they drop Micro Goombas down from the skies. This is also the first game to feature different color ones.
Paragoomba appeared as a playable character for the first time ever in Mario Superstar Baseball, and then again in Mario Super Sluggers. Both games he is a speedy character and is best at fielding. When he moves he greatly resembles his classic from in the games, by bouncing or hopping along.
Paragoombas are seen in Mario Party 8 on the title screen.
