Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is a racing game developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. Mario Kart Double Dash sold over 3.8 million copies in the US. It sold over 802,000 in Japan. It was the 7th best selling game in October 2006. The game is the fourth installment in the Mario Kart series, following Mario Kart Super Circuit from 2001. It was followed by Mario Kart DS in 2005, and Mario Kart Wii in 2008. Many reviewers loved the new game features. It was also taken well by critics. It is the only Mario Kart game to date where two characters can ride in one kart.

Every character in Mario Kart: Double Dash must have a partner, but not necessarily in the same weight class as them. Each character also has their own special item. The characters are:

[edit] Battle Mode
There are three different ways to do battle mode in Mario Kart: Double Dash. They are:
- Balloon Battle- Try to destroy all the other players balloons, last one standing wins.
- Shine Thief- Collect the Shine Sprite and try to hold on to it as long as possible. If you are hit, you lose it.
- Bob-Omb Blast- Hit each other with Bob-omb's. First one to three points wins. If hit, you lose one point.
