Mario is the main protagonist in the Mario series. His usual goal is to stop Bowser, and save Princess Peach. This is what he does in almost every game, but it is always mixed up.

In a few of the games, Mario is kidnapped by Bowser, and someone has to go rescue him. In Mario is Missing and Luigi's Mansion, it is Luigi. In Super Princess Peach, it is Princess Peach.

Mario and Luigi are plumbers in every single game except one, Donkey Kong, where he was a carpenter.
