Ice Mario is what Mario turns into after he obtains an Ice Flower. This power up appears in Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. However the effects on Mario are very different between the two. In Super Mario Galaxy the power up is on a time limit and it allows Mario to walk across water by freezing an ice path. He can also freeze a path across lava. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii it allows him to shoot ice balls which freeze most enemies. It is not on a timer in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and is retained until Mario takes a hit.
