The Hammer Bro Orb was first introduced in Mario Party 5 as the Hammer Bro Capsule. In Mario Party 5, when a player landed on a space with this capsule, a Hammer Bro. appeared and whacked the victim with 2 hammers, causing them to lose 10 coins, 5 coins per hammer. These base mechanics would stay in tact when the Orb returned as a Single Space Orb in Mario Party 7. It costs 10 coins to buy from an Orb Shop, and the big difference here is that instead of the victim's lost coins not going to anyone, whoever layed down the Orb receives the 10 coins. Otherwise, all base mechanics carried over from Mario Party 5.
