Grand Goomba in Super Mario Galaxy.
|Debut Appearance||Super Mario Bros. 3|
|Latest Appearance||Mario Kart 7|
Grand Goombas or Giant Goomba are larger versions of a Goomba. They have occurred in several Mario titles in the Mario series.
 Game Appearances
Grand Goombas would make their first appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3. They would be encountered on Big Island, with Gargantua Koopa Troopas and Piranhacus Giganticus. They are not much of a threat despite their size, a simple jump on them will defeat them or a swing from Mario's tail with the Raccoon Suit or Tanooki Suit. They would also make appearances in the remakes for the game in Super Mario All-Stars, and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Grand Goombas would appear on Tiny-Huge Island in Super Mario 64 and its remake, Super Mario 64 DS. When the player warps or enters the Huge side of the world, the Goombas become Grand Goombas. They can be defeated by a jump or a Ground Pound. If it's just jumped on, then the player receives one coin and if they Ground Pound then they get a Blue Coin.
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii when a Grand Goomba is jumped on, it turns into two normal Goombas. It will also have a new and larger species called Mega Goombas, which are twice the size of a Grand Goomba. When they are jumped on, they will split into two Grand Goombas. They can be seen in World 1 Enemy Course and World 8.
They would appear in Super Mario 3D Land with Tanooki tails, like other enemies in the game. They act like a Tail Goomba but can jump higher and can be harder to defeat. They can only be defeated by a Ground Pound and give Mario a few coins when they are defeated.
Grand Goombas would appear in the Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They take a few extra hits than a regular Goomba.
Mario Kart 7 will have Grand Goombas appearing in the game as obstacles.
 Other Appearances
In the episode "Princess Toadstool for President", Bowser and his son Cheatsy have a plague of Huge Paragoombas kept in a cage that they release to eat all of Grass Land. But when Bowser opened the cage at Mario and Luigi, they would leap on it before stomping on the two making them Grand Goombas. They would try to attack the Mario Bros., but slam into one another.
 Nintendo Adventure Books
A large Grand Goomba is seen in Koopa Capers. It is brought to Dark Land by Wendy O. Koopa who needed some of its leg hairs for a potion she wanted to create. Luigi would encounter the Grand Goomba as it wandered around aimlessly and tries to walk between its legs to go unnoticed.
