They are wild and uncivilized beings. They can create webbing-like strands from their bodies, though this ability has not been used in more recent games.
 Super Mario Series
 Super Mario World
They would make their first appearance in Super Mario World as a rare enemy that cannot be defeated. They will circle wire-like constructs that float in midair or blocks. They do not attack the Mario Bros. directly but only if they Bros. get in the way. The ones who circle blocks can be defeated by Yoshi or by throwing a Koopa Shell.
 New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Fuzzies would return in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and could be found in World 7 and World 9. Mega Fuzzy enemies would be introduced in this game and would act in the same manner as they did in Super Mario World. But they would be able to be defeated by being frozen or being hit with fireballs as Fire Mario. They can be found on wires and are found mostly in sky levels. They also do a little flip when they jump off one wire and then onto another.
 Super Mario Galaxy 2
They would appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They could be first encountered in the Honeybloom Galaxy, moving up and down on the orange poles that Mario or Luigi have to climb. They could also be encountered in Flipsville Galaxy and can be defeated by the use of the Spin Drill.

 Paper Mario Series
 Paper Mario
Fuzzies would be first seen behind Koopa Village in Paper Mario. It is revealed to be a large group of them seen in the woods and would attack Mario as "vampires" in the series and try to drain Mario's HP. When Mario first arrives in Koopa Village, he finds out that the town is under attack by a group of Fuzzies that are attacking the Koopa Troopas of the village. Once Mario defeats the leader, they promise to behave and stop attacking the village. As well as return Kooper's shell. A Fuzzy could be later seen in Shy Guys Toy Box if Princess Peach tells Bowser that Fuzzies are one of Mario's worst fears.
 Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
They would first appear in Shwonk Fortress in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and then part of the Fuzz fighting team seen in the Glitz Pit. They could also be seen on the first ten floors of the Pit of 100 Trials. They would keep the same attack methods from Paper Mario. This game would also introduce the Green Fuzzy and Flower Fuzzy enemies.
 Super Paper Mario
In Super Paper Mario, they would appear on Planet Blobule, where they would attack by bouncing into them instead of draining HP unlike they did in previous games. Dark Fuzzy would also be introduced in the game.
