[edit] Appearance and Personality
Donkey Kong is brown with lighter shades of yellow on his face, feet, hands, stomach, and chest. He wears a red tie with the letters "DK" (An abbreviation of Donkey Kong.) printed in yellow on the front. Despite his bland appearance, his personality is one of a trouble making ape, who either doesn't care about other people, or just is still child like.

Donkey Kong often causes trouble for his enemy Mario, either by kidnapping Pauline, Princess Toadstool, (Later replaced by Princess Peach.) or just robbing places, Donkey Kong always find a way to get in trouble. Donkey Kong is friends with Diddy Kong, (A monkey that looks similar to himself, only smaller.) the two are often seen teaming up. Donkey Kong is also friends with Lanky Kong, Chunky Kong, and Tiny Kong.

Donkey Kong first appeared in the game Donkey Kong (Game), in which he had captured Pauline, (For unknown reasons.) leaving Mario, (Or then called Jump Man.) to save her. Since then the original Donkey Kong, has become Cranky Kong, while Cranky Kong's son, or grandson, (Which has never been determined.) Donkey Kong Jr., became the Donkey Kong who has appeared in every game since then. Donkey Kong has also had a couple other games of his own, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, and Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast. Donkey Kong has also shared the spotlight with his friends in a number of games including: Donkey Kong 64, and DK: Jungle Climber, he also shared the spotlight with Diddy Kong, in Donkey Kong: Country, Donkey Kong: Land, Donkey Konga, and DK: King of Swing. Donkey Kong also was playable in Donkey Konga 2 along with Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong. Donkey Kong also was one of the babies in Yoshi's Island DS, and appeared as Donkey Kong Jr. in the game Donky Kong Jr. (Game). Besides the Donkey Kong (Game), Donkey Kong has also appeared as a villain in: Donkey Kong 3, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. Besides those games Donkey Kong has appeared as a playable character in the Mario Party Series, Super Smash Bros. series, and Mario Kart Series, as well as many of the Mario sports games.

He would return in Mario Kart Wii as one of the starting characters. He is a large-sized character with Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, King Boo, Rosalina, Funky Kong and Dry Bowser. Donkey Kong would have three courses in this game, two of them are tracks returning from previous games; they are DK's Snowboard Cross, DK's Jungle Parkway, and DK Mountain.

[edit] Mario Party Series
Donkey Kong has appeared in all of the Mario Party games to date. He was a playable character up until Mario Party 5 where he would gain his own space on the board. He would serve the opposite of Bowser as something would usually happen.
Mario Party DS would have him as the primary feature of DK's Stone Statue. In the story mode of the game, he would be turned to stone by a Dry Bones as he was running to Bowser's Castle after being invited to the banquet. The player will need to win and beat Dry Bones to release him. Donkey Kong would then run away from the castle and at the end would be seen with Diddy enjoying meals Bowser had prepared.
Donkey Kong would be the boss for his board, DK's Jungle Ruins in Mario Party 9. His boss mini-gam would be DK's Banana Bonus.

Donkey Kong would return in Mario Tennis Open. He would be one of the characters available from the start and would have a court called DK Jungle. Players could also purchase tennis gear for their Mii of Donkey Kong stuff. As well a costume could be unlocked after the player had met 50 characters over the Nintendo 3DS Streetpass.
