Bowser in the Sky is the final Bowser level and final course in Super Mario 64. Mario will travel through the platforms in the sky until he reaches a Warp Pipe that will lead him to the final boss fight in the game against Bowser. Defeating Bowser here will save Princess Peach and the Toads in Princess Peach's Castle. Various enemies will try and stop Mario in his journey to face off against the evil King Koopa including, Chuckyas and Goombas. The course is considered to be one of the hardest in the game, and Mario will need 70 Power Stars to be able to access the entrance of the course, or else he will keep going up the endless staircase.

[edit] Boss

Bowser will return for one more battle in Super Mario 64. The fight is much similar to the last two fights with him, except there are five mines located around the arena(instead of eight like previous arenas) and Bowser has some new abilities that he uses. When he Ground Pounds the ground, he will create shockwaves that can damage Mario if he gets hit by them. He can also breathe fire that will spread all around the arena. To defeat Bowser in this fight, Mario will need to throw Bowser into three mines instead of one. When Bowser has been hit twice, he will start wrecking the battlefield, until it makes the shape of a star. It will make the third hit even harder.

[edit] Star Mission

Like previous star missions in the Bowser levels, the Power Star is obtained by collecting all eight Red Coins located throughout the level. The Star will appear near the Warp Pipe after all eight have been collected.
