The Blue Yoshi is a color variation of the Yoshi species.
 Game History
 Super Mario Series
The Blue Yoshi would first appear in the underwater Star World 2 stage in Super Mario World. When it eats any shell, it will allow the Blue Yoshi to fly, while the regular abilities of the Yellow and Red Shells will also be allowed.
Whenever Mario finds the Yoshi's Wings, the Yoshi he is on, will turn into a Blue Yoshi.
The third player in VS. Mode in Super Mario 64 DS would control the Blue Yoshi. It would have the same ability as the other Yoshis in this mode.
The Blue Yoshi was meant to be in New Super Mario Bros. Wii but was later replaced by the Light Blue Yoshi.
 Yoshi Series
Blue Yoshi would be playable in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on the castle stages on every world besides level 6-8 where the Green Yoshi would be playable in. The Blue Yoshi is the least-used Yoshi in the game.
The young Blue Yoshi is one of the playable Yoshis in the game. His favorite food would be the Grapes item.
 Super Smash Bros. Series
The Blue Yoshi would be part of the Yoshi team in the 1-Player Mode of w.smashbros:Super Smash Bros.. They would be one of the playable characters later in w.smashbros:Super Smash Bros. Melee and w.smashbros:Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
The Blue Yoshi would live in the Yoshi's Village in Paper Mario. Several of them could be found in the village. The Blue Yoshi would be one of the colors that the Yoshi Kid could be in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. To get this color, it would depend on how much time has passed from when the egg joins the party from atop of the Hot Dog Stand until when Mario meets the Yoshi after running from the Armored Harriers between 9 and 11 minutes.
 Mario Tennis Series
Blue Yoshi is set to appear in Mario Tennis Open as an downloadable QR code character. He is a Speed type character.
Blue Yoshi would be a color variant for Yoshi in Mario Super Sluggers. It could be found in Yoshi Park during Challenge Mode and would ask the player several questions in order to figure out the combination for the gate. When all answers have been answered correctly, he will join Mario on his quest. Blue Yoshi would have the weakest batting ability of the Yoshis but would be the best at pitching.
The Blue Yoshi would be a non-playable character in Mario Sports Mix. It would be on the blue teams sideline for the Dodgeball game while the Red Yoshi is on the red teams.
