[edit] Super Mario World

Blarggs would first appear in Super Mario World and were rarely found unless in the Vanilla Dome. When Mario or Luigi approach a Blargg on the Skull Raft, the Blargg will pop its eyes out before dipping back into the lava before lunging at the player. The Blargg enemy could not be defeated in this game, and touching the Blargg would have the player lose their form or lose of life. However if Yoshi can touch the Blargg without getting harmed and can even eat them with some difficulty.

[edit] Super Mario World television series

They would appear only in two episodes in Super Mario World cartoon. It would first appear in "The Wheel Thing" where Mario and Luigi are banned from the LAva Pits. They would try to cook a pizza over a fire, this would attract a Blargg from a nearby lake of lava and begin to chase Luigi, in an attempt to eat him. He would be rescued by Mario when Mario gets a Cape and swoops down to rescue Mario.

It would appear again in "Mama Luigi" as it would appear and be used as a stepping stone when Yoshi and Mario run away from a pair of Tyrannosaurus Rex.

[edit] Yoshi series

They would first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They would take on a blob-like appearance with large mouths and frowning black eyes with no pupils. They would act similar to their appearance in Super Mario World. They could be defeated by the use of a Egg, but appear after a few seconds. Using a POW Block would defeat them. There would also be a giant sub-species called Gargantua Blargg, that will try and block Yoshi's path. Nep-Enuts would also be introduced in this game.

In Yoshi's Story, they would appear larger and with smaller arms, they would only be seen in Stage 2-2: Blargg's Boiler. They cannot harm Yoshi when touched, though Yoshi will get forcefully pushed from them. Yoshi can throw an egg to force them back into the lava, though they will return a few seconds after. One Blargg would briefly pursue Yoshi.

In Yoshi's Island DS, Blarggs will have the same appearance as they did in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Gargantua Blarggs and Nep-Enuts would also reappear and a new sub-species called Crusher Blarggs would appear.
